Active Schools
We are an active school. We do a lot of work to be an active school.
We have the title of an active school because we participate in sports events.
Our active slogan is ‘Run in the garden, Run in the school, get more active, it is cool’!
We do daily laps and movement breaks. We go on about 6 laps around the school and host active weeks. In active week, we go on 10 laps a day and do different activities each day and have active homework.
We host a sports day also. If it is wet outside, we do some dancing and Go-noodle too.
We go to a lot of school competitions such as gaelic football, athletics and football.
We also do sports that we don’t compete in like swimming and gymnastics.
On Thursdays, after big break, the whole school gets together and we exercise.
At the end of June 2023. we put up our active school flag and a green schoolflag. This was put up by Kayden McBride and John Devlin.
We aim to do more in the future and everyone enjoys it! We have so much fun doing these activities and it’s good hard work. It keeps us fit, strong and active.
