Shane Sandy’s Visit

On Monday, the 24th June we had a visitor. It was one of our past pupils, Shane Sandy. He took photos of space. He came to show us some photos of space. He had shown us photos of the moon, Mars and other photos of the Milky Way Galaxy. Even photos of other galaxies and one that looked like it was made of fire and one that looked like it was made of ice. He said that in the blind eye we could see Mars and Jupiter from using just our  Go-pro camera. He showed us a photo of stars that made up one spade. There are a lot of other universes inside the milky way galaxy. The things he uses to take his photos are a tripod, canon camera, telescope that help to find planets and stars and galaxies and lastly a camera filter!

Did you know Mars has 3 moons and Saturn has 53. There are 9 planets in our solar system. Pluto used to be a planet but it is no longer a planet. There are more than 100 billion Galaxies in the universe. The sun makes up 98.86% of the solar systems. Mercury is named after the Roman messenger to the Gods. Venus spires in the opposite direction to most planets. The Earth is 149, 262 km from the sun. Mars is home to Olympus Mons the solar system’s tallest Volcano. Jupiter is large enough for the earth to fit inside 1,000 times. Saturn has the 2nd largest moon in the solar system. Uranus is the coldest planet in the solar system. Neptune orbits the sun once every 165 years.
