During Science Week, the pupil’s in Ms Mc Laughlin’s 4th and 5th class made 3D volcanos. This was part of their Science Week celebrations. They used paper, plastic bottles and cardboard to create their volcanoes. They then painted and decorated the volcanoes. They worked on these in groups
They then did experiments to make volcanic reactions. To create a volcanic reaction they used baking soda, fairy liquid, food colouring and vinegar. They showed other classes the volcanoes.
They showed the volcanoes and chemical reactions to the children in Junior and Senior Infants.

You will need:
Baking soda, vinegar, food colouring, a container.
- Add baking soda to the container.
- Add a drop of food colouring and mix together.
- Add vinegar and watch the reaction!
