We have been using teamwork so much in our project. We made sure to include everyone and work together. We were very good at problem solving. As we did that, we learned how to fix things so much more.
When we were building the Robot we were getting more and more use to it. The coding was pretty hard at first. It was kind of confusing but we got use to it pretty quick. The instructions were pretty easy on the tablet. Sometimes we had to really zoom in on the instructions. It sometimes took us a while to understand them but we got them eventually.
We all brought ourselves together to work on the problems together and push ourselves outside our comfort zone. All of us had different skills such as building, problem solving. We had ups and downs at times. Some people even worked at home by searching things up and finding out how to solve problems.
On the 16th of January eight students from 4th, 5th & 6th class came on a bus to the ATU in Letterkenny to go to the 2026 North West Vex Robotics competition.
When we got there, we got our robot measured to make sure that it was fair for the actual competition. Afterwards, we had a couple of minutes practice. In that time frame all 8 on the team had a shot driving the robot before the 8 rounds we were competing in started. During the competition everyone got two turns driving and one turn being a loader. We had great fun.
WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THE PROJECT……
We never thought we would have the robot done in time but we surprised ourselves.
We came up with so many ideas for our robot so we named him Robob.
We learned so much such as like never give up.
When you have a problem there is always a way to fix it .
We made a lot of mistakes but we learned from them.
We thought the challenge was going to be impossible but we proved ourselves wrong because of teamwork and confidence in our own abilities.
We had jobs based on our own skills and strengths.
There was a lot of helping each other and treating everyone with respect.
We had so much fun building the robot.
We are very proud of ourselves.
