SOLAR PANELS
On 22nd of May 2024 Liam and Martin from Efficient Renewables energy visited our school. They both talked about more efficient and environmentally friendly energy resources. They spoke about how sufficient and helpful the Solar Panels would be for our school. They showed us how the energy stores up over the summer holidays for winter. They showed us different types of renewable energy, such as wind power, solar power etc.
Here is one type of renewable energy they mentioned:
Wind Power: If you’ve ever seen a windmill, you’ve seen Wind Energy in action. In fact, it’s one of the oldest forms of energy humans have used, modern versions are called Wind Turbines, which use propellers to harvest the wind energy. It’s relatively inexpensive energy source, but requires careful planning and use of the right location with enough wind to regularly generate power.
Benefits: Wind energy does not create any harmful emissions and has far fewer impacts on the environment that other forms of energy.
The Prices of Solar Panels vary on how many you want to purchase, Solar Panels last 20-25 years.
The average price is €10,000 – €15,000 depending on how many panels you purchase.
