We had our first school assembly of the year to award and congratulate children for using kind words and showing good manners.
The teachers picked two children out of every class to get a certificate. The winners were Shannon Quinn and Úna Clarke from Ms. McGlynn’s class. Liya Gao and Lorcan Boyle Devenney received the award in Ms. McLaughlin’s class. In Mr. Doherty’s class Molly Foley and Michael Quinn received the certificates. Sophie Doherty and Lucy Gibson from Ms. Rodger’s class received certificates for their good manners. Shane Magee Tinney and Hannah McConnell from Ms. Whoriskey’s class were rewarded for their good manners.
Matthew Dillion won a special award for being very kind to one of his classmates.
These awards were to encourage everybody to be kind and have good manners because you never know what’s happening in someone’s life. Being kind costs nothing. It could even be something small like saying ‘Good morning’ when you come in or keeping the door open for someone. In conclusion, make sure to always be kind!
