On the 18th of September 2024, our school went to St. Eunan’s GAA pitch for the Letterkenny Athletic Club cross country regional finals.
Our first runner was Molly, who put in a good fight and finished 12th overall. Next, we had Matthew and Lucas, who did really well and did not give up until they crossed the finish line.
Our next runners were Ella and Liya, who kept going and didn’t give up until they crossed the line.
The 2015 boys race included Michael, Neven, Cayden and Finn. At the start of the race all four of the boys looked like they had a chance of winning, but on the second lap disaster struck! Michael our leading runner tripped and fell coming into the final corner, but got back up and kept running to secure 8th place, showing great perseverance and desire to keep going.
Then we had Caoimhe in the 2014 girls’ race, who was cheered on massively by her friends, and finished the race well.
After that, the 2014 boys’ race commenced with Conor who put in a strong start and never gave up until he reached the finish line.
Next was Paige’s 2013 race and she did well and kept going and never once gave up until she crossed the line. Next was Fintan and just like everybody else he kept going, never gave up and put up a huge fight.
Then we had Clodagh and Zainab who were in the girls’ 2012, the girls put in an amazing fight and did not give up, Clodagh finished with a great sprint to put her in 4th place overall and Zainab did well but it wasn’t to be her day.
Finally, we had Eoghan’s 2012 boys’ race, he did well running into the breakaway group from the start and kept up the pace for the remainder of the race. He finished 5th place overall.
Thanks to Letterkenny Athletics Club for hosting this event.
