Our Confirmation took place on Tuesday March 23rd 2024 in the Church of the All Saints, Newtoncunningham. The children in 5th and 6th class were confirmed by our parish priest, Fr. Martin Cunningham. We made our confirmation with children from Drumoghill NS and Ray NS.
Before our confirmation we did a lot of preparation. We learned about the Holy Spirit. We researched and did art work about our names that we’d use for our Confirmation and our teacher Mrs. McChrystal displayed these in the classroom. We did lots of artwork to mark the occasion. We also had a lovely day for our Confirmation retreat in the IOSAS centre in Muff.
At the beginning of the confirmation, we all sat down in our assigned seats in the chapel and waited for it to begin. When it began, we all listened to what everybody said and sang along to the songs they sang and played.
Then we all went up with our sponsor and told our name and our confirmation name.
